Luckner waiting for justice after being robbed

Luckner Jeanty shows the bruises on his ribs

What was supposed to been the ending of a good night for Luckner Jeanty after playing poker at the Player's Club located in Turtle Cove ended in near tragedy two months ago, when he was beaten and robbed by three men who are still at large.

The construction worker of Blue Hills had just hit it big on one of the many slot machines and was on his way home with $2300 in his pockets, when he was jumped and robbed by three men, whom he said had Jamaican accents, in the vacant Banana Boat area about 10:30 p.m.

“I remember it well. I was heading home and I saw the men approaching me. I recognized one of them from inside the casinom and he asked me how I did. I said ‘Okay' and started to head home when two other men asked me for the money, and attacked me with a club or something.”

“I suffered two broken ribs, and they took the money as I tried to fight them off but they outnumbered me. I called the police and they came, and I gave them the information; but up to now I have not heard anything from them and they have not arrested the men.

What is frustrating to Joseph is that he knows the faces of the men and described them fully to the police, but no one has been arrested.

¨I still see two of the men who attacked me from time to time, and I keep telling the police where they live and work and they have not been picked up. That is why I decided to come to the Press and hope they can speed up the investigation and let people know how I feel.

Luckner said that he has been in the TCI for 17 years and is married to a Belonger, but is at a loss as to why no one has been arrested or taken the courts as yet.

When contacted, Police sources confirm that the report had been made and investigations are ongoing as they have interviewed a few suspects.
