TURKS AND CAICOS WELCOMES WESTJET

The Turks and Caicos Tourist Board is pleased to announce the arrival of WestJet’s three weekly direct flights from Toronto to Providenciales beginning, Tuesday, November 4, 2009.

Dr. Hubert Fulford, Chairman of the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board said, “Congratulations to WestJet for commencing service to our islands, we feel this demonstrates the confidence the airline has in our destination.”

WestJet will fly between Toronto and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos three times per week from now until May 1, 2010 with flights departing Toronto at 10:00AM and arriving in Providenciales at 1:50PM.  On its return, the flight departs Providenciales at 2:45PM arriving in Toronto at 6:45PM.  

Mr. Ralph Higgs, acting Director of Tourism for the Tourist Board said, “The Tourist Board is excited about WestJet’s decision to introduce scheduled flights to Turks and Caicos.  Canada is our second largest market for tourist coming to our islands and we are confident that the introduction of WestJet’s new flights will allow more Canadians to travel to our shores.”
Turks and Caicos is one of 11 new WestJet Destinations, announced earlier this year.  One-way fares, available in both directions on non-stop flights only, are available from $149, plus applicable taxes and fees.
