by Vivian Tyson -SUN Senior Editor
LIME customers across the Turks and Caicos Islands were treated to goodies by that full service telecommunications as make-up for an interruption in service which occurred externally on Monday, November 2, but which disrupted operations here for almost seven hours.
The customer appreciation day, which ran from 11am to 3pm, was held at Lime’s Office on Providenciales, LIME in Grand Turk, Sea View Market in South Caicos and BETCO in North Caicos.
On Monday, November 3, a number of LIME customers were unable to make calls internally as well as internationally. According to LIME there was a problem with one of its international links, which also disrupted communications in other regional countries, including Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands.
According to the telecommunications company, its local as well as regionally technicians worked feverishly to restore the service. The company noted that even though networks, from time to time experience failure, based on the level of work carried out on the system, did not expect similar occurrence, at least not in short term.
