Controversial political Shaun Malcolm says he is not contesting any posts at the upcoming convention of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM).

In an interview with The SUN, Malcolm said: “I am still a member of the party (PDM) contrary to what the leader (Floyd Seymour) has been saying, but at this point in time I am not motivated to contest any positions in the PDM executive.”

Malcolm served as chairman of the PDM from June 2004 to June 2008. He was branch chairman of the PDM’s Providenciales branch from 2003 to 2004 and national campaign chairman in the 2007 general elections.

In recent times Malcolm, PDM Leader Floyd Seymour and the party’s chairman Sharlene Cartwright have been at loggerheads over a number of political and personal issues.

Malcolm has expressed his dissatisfaction with the leadership and direction of the present PDM hierarchy and has used often used his column on a controversial blog to criticise the party.

Seymour has accused Malcolm of being angry and bitter after he was basically rejected by the PDM when he contested positions in the party’s executive and he said the former chairman is using his blog to undermine and destroy the PDM.
